Flip Moore
Guitar, Keyboards, Vocals, Songwriter, Band Leader
A lifelong musician who began performing professionally at 15, Flip studied music at Winthrop University and spent the next decade touring the Southeast with professional bands — living the road life that most musicians only dream about.
His career is built on moments that matter. With the band Fortune, he recorded the regional hit “I Wanna Beach Girl” featured on “Best Beach Music Under the Sun.” He took the stage with the legendary Billy Scott and the Prophets, performing classics like I Got the Fever and California to crowds across the region. And in a quieter but equally powerful moment, he co-wrote and performed “She’s Quiet Now” at the Alzheimer’s Association Annual Gala — proof that great musicianship isn’t just about moving feet, it’s about moving hearts.
Most recently, Flip spent six years with one of the South’s premier party bands, Kingdaddy, before returning home to plant roots in the Southeast with a focus on the Northwest Georgia and Northeast Alabama area — where Flashback is quickly becoming the region’s most sought-after live entertainment.
With powerful lead vocals, dynamic guitar and keyboard work, and a songwriter’s ear for what an audience feels, Flip doesn’t just perform — he connects.
When Flip takes the stage, you know you’re in good hands.
George Hartline
Guitar, Keyboards, Lead Vocals, Drums, Songwriter
Some musicians have a story. George Hartline has a saga.
Born in Scottsboro, Alabama, George studied music and Spanish at the University of Alabama before joining the Marine Corps — serving a tour of duty in Iraq before pursuing not one but two extraordinary careers simultaneously.
Upon returning from Iraq, George moved to California, forming his band the Harmless Doves while attending Chapman University law school in Orange County. Building a sizable regional audience with his amiable blend of blues, rock, and folk, the Harmless Doves opened at the House of Blues in Anaheim and were shortlisted to perform at the Daytime Emmy Awards. George was selected to Super Lawyers Rising Stars for 2017-2019 — one of the most prestigious recognitions in the legal profession.
Back home in Alabama, George represented the family of Clarence Norris, one of the Scottsboro Boys — nine young African American men falsely accused during the era of segregation — fighting for justice with the same passion he brings to every stage performance.
He is also a filmmaker, with credits on IMDB as a director, writer, and producer.
On stage with Flashback, George is the ultimate Swiss Army knife — equally devastating on vocals, guitar, keyboards, and drums. Add a gifted songwriter's instinct to that versatility and you begin to understand why he is such an invaluable part of this band.
A Marine. A lawyer. A filmmaker. A songwriter. When George Hartline shows up, he's all in.
Randy baker
Bass, Acoustic Guitar, Vocals
When Randy locks in on the low end, you feel it. The world is his stage — and now he's bringing all of it home to Flashback.
James willis
Keyboards, backing vocals
A native of Blue Ridge, Georgia, James holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Shorter University with a concentration in applied Piano — giving him a formal foundation that is immediately evident every time he sits down at the keys.
His experience spans multiple musical worlds. James served as Musical Director for The Georgians, a prestigious big band ensemble, demonstrating the kind of leadership and musicianship that only comes from years of serious study and performance. He has also performed with popular Atlanta-based band NRG alongside Nite Driscoll, and went on to join the faculty of the Atlanta Institute of Music — one of the Southeast's premier music institutions — where he taught applied keyboard to the next generation of musicians.
James's expertise extends well beyond performance. A seasoned professional in sound engineering and production, he has served as a factory representative for some of the most respected names in the audio industry — JBL, Crown, Soundcraft, AKG, and Shure Microphones. He knows sound from every angle — as a performer, an engineer, and an industry insider.
Whether the moment calls for sophisticated jazz voicings, piano-driven classics, or high-energy dance hits, James delivers with the training, experience, and ears of a true professional.
When James takes his seat at the keys, the band's sound grows.
Bret Mulcay
Drums, Percussion
Originally from Martinez, Georgia and now settled in the rural countryside of Cedartown, Bret has been playing drums since before he could explain why — his mother will tell you he was keeping time on the kitchen table from his high chair. That natural instinct never left him.
Bret honed his craft through high school and on to Georgia Tech, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Management while simultaneously playing in the Marching Band, Jazz Band, and Basketball Pep Band. While in college, Bret also performed with the Atlanta Falcons Pep Band — and then took the world stage at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies, performing a Mickey Hart percussion arrangement and later alongside the legendary Gloria Estefan.
His musical range is extraordinary — from jazz and funk to heavy metal, influenced by drumming giants Steve Gadd, Neil Peart, Sonny Emory, and Larnell Lewis. Away from the Flashback stage, Bret also plays rhythm guitar, mandolin, and upright bass, and has spent over 20 years with Cross Ties Band, performing bluegrass and acoustic gospel music.
When Bret powers the Flashback rhythm section, you feel it in your chest — and in your feet.
Bruce McLeod
Bass guitar, Piano
A native of Rome, Georgia, raised in Cartersville, Bruce started piano lessons at age six — and it quickly became clear he was no ordinary student. In high school he earned two first place finishes in piano at the statewide literary competition, and in one of those same years also took first place in boys quartet. As if that weren't enough, he was sitting first chair trumpet in his high school band — in 7th grade.
Bruce picked up the bass at 14 and never looked back. He spent years touring the Southeast with various club bands, building the kind of road experience that can't be taught in any classroom.
Today Bruce remains one of the most active musicians in the region. In addition to holding down the groove for Flashback, he leads DeSoto Fusion, his eclectic jazz trio, and rocks stages with Ruffled Feathers, a classic rock and blues power band.
His solid bass lines and tight backing vocals anchor the Flashback rhythm section — and his decades of experience mean he can handle anything a performance throws at him.
When Bruce locks in the groove, the dance floor fills up.
Marc Johnson
Tenor, Alto & Soprano Saxes, Clarinet, Guitar, Bass

While he is most recognized for his work as a saxophonist and bassist, Marc’s musicianship spans multiple instruments and styles, allowing him to adapt seamlessly to any performance setting.

He brings that same level of energy and professionalism to every stage, consistently delivering performances that are both musically exceptional and genuinely unforgettable.
Elite musicianship. Every time. Every stage.
ricky brooks
drums, percussion
Born and raised in Rome, Georgia, Ricky picked up the sticks at age 9 and never put them down. He honed his craft marching with the legendary Mighty East Rome Gladiator Drum Line and hit the professional stage straight out of high school — launching a career that has spanned decades and genres from pop and heavy metal to dance and corporate entertainment.
The centerpiece of that career was 30 years with Ready or Not, one of the Southeast's premier corporate entertainment bands, where he toured extensively across the region performing for thousands of audiences at the highest level of professional live entertainment.
But Ricky's resume reaches even further. As a backing musician he has shared the stage with some of music's most iconic names — Percy Sledge, The Coasters, Dennis Yost, and entertainer Rich Little — experiences that speak to his versatility and professionalism as a drummer.
Today Ricky channels all of that experience into the next generation as a drum instructor at MusikWorks in Rome, passing the art of drumming to aspiring musicians. He also performs regularly at church, theatres, and community events throughout the area.
When Ricky counts it off, everybody falls in line.
Angela McRee
Vocals, Alternate Percussion
Originally from the St. Louis area and a longtime Florida resident, Angela made her way to Rome, Georgia in 1994 — and the local music scene has never been the same. A jazz vocal major at the University of Miami and a music therapy graduate of the University of Georgia, she came to Rome to work as a therapist at Northwest Georgia Regional Hospital, bringing music as medicine to adults with dual diagnoses.
But the stage kept calling. Over the past 30 years Angela has performed with some of the region's most respected ensembles — Sam Baltzer's Jazz Combo, Applescraps, The Georgians Big Band, and Ready or Not, a top 40 corporate entertainment band. Her connection to Flashback runs deep — she first performed with the band all the way back in 1998.
Her theatrical credentials are equally impressive. Under Sam Baltzer's musical direction, Angela has taken on demanding leading roles — the Witch in Into the Woods, the Mother in Civil War, and Lily in The Secret Garden. She has served as Music Director, Vocal Coach, and Summer Program Director at Rome Little Theater since 1998 — a role she holds to this day.
As an educator, Angela has taught voice at Darlington Upper School, Rome High School, and is co-owner of Musikworks Studio in Rome — where she, her husband Ben, and a team of talented instructors teach lessons for 15 different instruments.
Away from the stage and studio, Angela and Ben have served as worship leaders at churches for over 15 years. Their two sons — both gifted musicians themselves — are currently students at Georgia State and UGA.
When Angela steps to the microphone, she doesn't just sing. She tells a story.
Thirty years of music. Every note earned.
